LG officially unveiled its 2026 OLED TV lineup at CES, and while the LG C6 will likely grab most of the attention, the LG G6 sits firmly at the top of LG’s traditional OLED range. Positioned above the C-series and below the ultra-niche W-series, the G-series has long been LG’s premium choice for buyers who want maximum brightness, flagship panel tech, and a more cinematic experience.
Although LG hasn’t confirmed an exact release date yet, we now have a solid idea of when the LG G6 is likely to arrive, what sets it apart from the C6, and how it improves on last year’s G5. Here’s everything we know so far.
LG G6 OLED TV release date window & launch history
LG has not announced a specific release date for the G6 OLED TV. However, much like the C-series, LG follows a very predictable annual release pattern for its flagship OLEDs.
Historically, LG’s G-series OLED TVs launch in late March or early April, following their CES debut in January. Last year’s LG G5 followed this exact cadence, with pre-orders opening toward the end of March and the first units shipping in early April.
Based on this consistent launch cycle, we expect the LG G6 OLED TV to release in late March or early April 2026, though this remains an estimate until LG confirms official dates.

The headline upgrade for the G6 is its second-generation RGB Tandem OLED panel, which LG says delivers up to 20% higher peak brightness than the G5. LG is targeting brightness levels close to 3,000 nits, though real-world results will need to be verified through hands-on testing.
LG’s new Hyper Radiant Color Tech also debuts here, aiming to improve brightness, efficiency, and color volume while maintaining OLED’s trademark contrast and black levels. Unlike the C6, where this tech is limited to larger models, the G6 applies it across most of the lineup, excluding only the smallest and largest sizes.
LG G6 OLED TV price expectations
LG hasn’t announced official pricing for the G6 OLED TV yet. As with most LG TV launches, pricing details are expected closer to release, likely when pre-orders open.

We don’t expect major changes for the G6 pricing structure. The G-series remains LG’s premium OLED offering, and while brightness and panel technology have improved, LG typically keeps year-over-year pricing relatively stable at launch.
LG G6 vs G5: what’s changed?
The LG G5 was already one of the brightest OLED TVs on the market in 2025, delivering excellent HDR performance and strong gaming features alongside LG’s familiar Gallery Series design. However, it still relied on first-generation RGB Tandem OLED technology, which limited just how far brightness could be pushed.
The LG G6 builds directly on that foundation with a second-generation Tandem OLED panel, bringing tangible gains in peak brightness and efficiency. This should make a noticeable difference in HDR highlights and daytime viewing, particularly in brighter rooms where OLEDs have traditionally struggled.
LG has also upgraded its processing hardware for 2026, which should translate into incremental improvements in motion handling, upscaling, and AI-driven picture adjustments. Combined with higher refresh rate support and comprehensive HDMI 2.1 gaming features, the G6 looks set to strengthen LG’s position at the top end of the OLED market.
