Synchronized Swimming Is On The Way
There is a short devlog video for Subnautica 2 over at Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN which shows off a bit of the game and some details on what Unknown Worlds Entertainment has in store for us. The biggest announcement is confirmation of something we already knew, you will indeed be able to explore the underwater world with a friend. Theoretically this will be co-op, but that really depends on the friend you are playing with now, doesn’t it?
The new Subnautica is built in the Unreal Engine so you can expect it to be even prettier than the original. While the video doesn’t reveal too much about the game, after all it isn’t even in Early Access yet, there was an interesting tidbit revealed. When scanning a bit of slime, the computer announced that useful genetics had been found and you should expose yourself to it. Apparently you will now need to incorporate alien genetics into your body to “adapt your body for survival.”
